The Helping Hands are a group of enthusiastic gardeners of varying skill levels, from absolute beginners to experienced gardeners, who volunteer their time to work on special projects within the Heritage areas of Rookwood.

Our regular projects are the Section BB Rose Garden; the Friends Rose Garden in the Old Presbyterian area; Section 5 garden and the Necropolis Mortuary Station site.

Other projects are carried out should the need arise from time to time.

Our regular Gardening Days are held on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month from March until November commencing from @ 10am.

If you are free on these dates, even if it is just for an hour or so, we meet at the Village Green Car Park opposite the All Souls Chapel, Hawthorne Avenue at @ 9.30am.

We will then move to a designated work area. Please bring a few tools with you, water, a hat, gloves, sturdy footwear and some lunch (and a chair so you have somewhere comfy to sit at lunch)

We are a small friendly team and would welcome new members any time.
